My name is Yu Mee Chien, I am originally from Malaysia and currently hold the position of Finance Controller, responsible for the financial management of Ventós' subsidiaries in China and Singapore.
How long have you been working at Ventós?
I have been working at Ernesto Ventós for 6 years and 9 months. It has been a very enriching period, both professionally and personally, full of challenges and learning experiences.
Explain to us your day-to-day management
My day-to-day revolves around managing finances for our subsidiaries in China and Singapore. I handle resolving incidents related to internal systems, providing support to local teams, and coordinating everything related to collections and payments with suppliers and clients. I also prepare and analyze financial reports, including sales, purchases, bank transactions, and inventories.

What do you like most about your work?
What I value most is the opportunity to collaborate with international teams. Constant communication with our branches allows me to learn every day, broaden my cultural perspective and strengthen my technical and human knowledge.
What base does your favorite perfume have?
My favorite perfume has rose as its base. I am fascinated by its delicate and elegant aroma, which combines softness with an emotional depth that lingers. For me, rose conveys beauty, balance, and serenity.
If you had to create a fragrance with your name, what would it smell like?
He would definitely bring some orange blossom.
What smells transport you to your childhood?
The smell of coconut immediately transports me to my childhood, especially to happy moments during vacations. It is a comforting aroma that connects me with memories of freedom, joy and family warmth.
Your ideal vacation destination? What would your perfect vacation be like?
My ideal destination would be a place surrounded by mountains and a serene lake, where I can enjoy nature, breathe pure air and listen to the sound of water. It is the perfect environment to relax the mind and reconnect with myself.
Do you have any talent or curious fact about yourself that usually surprises people?
People are usually surprised to learn that I have a talent for making sweets by hand. It is a talent that I enjoy cultivating and sharing with others, especially during special moments.
What style of music do you listen to? Favorite singer/artist?
I prefer relaxing music, ideal for accompanying moments of concentration or rest. I don't have a favorite singer, since I usually choose music according to my mood or the activity I'm doing.
What is your favorite hobby?
I dedicate my free time to reading Confucius teachings and reflecting on how to apply them in everyday life. It is a habit that brings me inner peace and direction in my daily routine.
What is the best advice you have received in the workplace?
"Listen before you act."
This advice has been key for me. It has taught me to better understand people, to act with empathy, and to make more conscious and right decisions.
If you could have a superpower for a day, which would you choose and why?
If I could have a superpower for a day, I would choose the ability to transform suffering into joy through aromas. I deeply believe in the emotional power of scents, and I would love to be able to use them as a bridge to heal and generate well-being in others.
